​陳漢聲

CHEN Han-Sheng

1988年出生於高雄,畢業於國立臺北藝術大學新媒體藝術研究所。目前擔任臺北市藝術創作者職業工會理事、走路草農藝團策展人。擅長實驗動畫、複合媒材、動力裝置,並從自身家庭背景、身份延伸至創作,關注農業、自然環境、性別議題。曾於中國、泰國、香港、臺灣多地駐村。

 

都市是文明的象徵,焦慮則是文明的產物,總使焦慮往往才下眉頭,卻上心頭,如此的難以名狀,但卻讓鄉愁的感覺無比明確,《小清翫》系列結合陶藝、釉燒、纏花與動力裝置,是離鄉後的家鄉遙想,更是鄉愁的分享。文章是案頭之山水,山水是地上之文章,多寶格之於古人,是搜羅珍奇之物,於他則是原鄉風景的棲居之所;盒中,宛若田中,匣間,恰似阡陌,箱外,如同山外,櫃藏,宜居宜家;盒、匣、箱、櫃的格式無一不是有待凝視的微小空間,而纏花枝葉的幽微顫抖,才有機會在凝視的空間裡,成為遙望家鄉的風吹草動。

 

他在學生時期對於手作就很熱衷,對於不同工藝媒材都想嘗試。某次看傳統工藝展覽認識了纏花的技法。看到繡線的材料可以作成立體,再加上小時候對於春仔花的印象就是塑膠花,那種感覺是很衝擊的。所以,才興起了找傳統工藝師一起合作的念頭。

Born in Kaohsiung in 1988, Chen Han-Sheng received his MFA from the Institute of New Media Art, Taipei National University of the Arts. Currently one of the directors at Taipei ArtCreator Trade Union, and the curator of Walking Grass Agriculture, Chen excels at experimental animation, mixed media, and kinetic installations. His issues of interest include personal family background, which extends to his works that focus on agriculture, natural environment, gender issues, etc. Chen has been a resident artist in China, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

 

Urban city is the symbol of civilization, while anxiety is the product of civilization. The anxiety, which is hard to be articulated, keeps circling one's mind. The "Small Playful Objects" series combines ceramics, glazed wares, twined flower artistry and kinetic installations, echoing the nostalgic sentiment. Some say that wonderful essays are like the landscape on the desk, while the natural landscape is the essays of the earth. People in ancient times used treasure boxes as containers for their precious objects. Yet for Chen, they are the habitat of his hometown scenery. Partitions within the boxes are like the crossed ridges and furrows in the cropland. Staring inside, one sees a space that encompasses all movements in their hometown.

 

He has been keen on handcraft since his schooldays and wants to try different craft materials. In one traditional craft exhibit, he knew the technique of twined flower. In his childhood memory, the twined flower is all made out of plastic. The fact that embroidery thread can be made into three-dimensional brings impact on him. So he has the idea to collaborate with a traditional craft artist.
