當代纖維藝術家，以「纖維・紀行」方式探討存在與自我。創作動機源自生活中不停流轉的時間，她像旅行者在不同時空裡移動、收集與紀錄。藉收集生活物件回溯過往存在記憶，並思考對纖維的原生情感。藉長時間手作累積與形構自我的整體面貌、探尋存在位置，覺察與外在環境間的遭遇。

《鐵鏽物件─罐系列》藉著鏽色沁染纖維，以纖維紀錄即將鏽蝕之鐵罐的某個時刻。《無用染色計畫 #1》利用駐村期間發現的五種無用自然資材進行染色：被拔除的雜草三葉木藍、無法食用的栗子外果殼、銀杏和松樹修剪後的枝條，及本地盛產葡萄的果皮。染色物件是勞動者常使用的毛巾，承載著汗水，也是休息片刻時的安慰。珍視原看似無用的資材萃取出染液，色彩成為另一種收穫。

駐村將創作步伐調整成歸零狀態，好好生活、感受異地風景。韓國京畿道創意中心地處於鄉村，因修剪花木有許多廢棄資材可用於創作。徒手取纖的原始手感，有點遙遠卻又熟悉的記憶在這裡找到。

Contemporary fiber artist Chen Ying-Ting explores issues about self-existence in “My Journey in Fiber.” The non-stop nature of time was the motivation for her works. Like a traveler, Chen moves between different places and time, collecting and documenting details. She dives into memories attached to the daily objects she collects and focuses on her true emotions for fiber. By working long hours with both hands, Chen gradually gets to see herself in all aspects, find her position, and become aware of the environment around her.

“Rusted Objects: the Can Series” captures a particular moment of fiber dyed with rust. The “Unproductive Dyeing Project #1” uses five natural materials found in the surrounding during the residency, including Three-Leaf Indigo that was removed as weeds, inedible chestnut

shell, the trimmed branches of gingko tree and pine, and the skin of local teeming grapes. The objects dyed are towels that are often used by laborers while workings which absorb sweats and also provide comfort during rest. This project treasures these unproductive materials to extract their color for the towels, in which, coloring may become a way of gaining products from seemingly worthless resources.

Artist-in-residence can bring an artist’s creativity back to square one, where they live simply and immerse in a foreign locale. The Gyeonggi Creation Center in Korea is surrounded by nature in a rural town and abundant in agricultural waste such as trimmed flowers and branches, which can be used as creation materials. Extracting the fibers with bare hands, she found a sense of touch distant in memory yet so within reach.
