As a self-taught jeweler, Liao Hsing-Ling is also a storyteller, time observer, and explorer of forms. By reassembling metals, everyday materials, and found objects, she creates mini, organic and sculptural jewelry and vessels connected with human bodies and life. Interaction, introspection, and evolution are key focuses. Through her practice, she seeks to encourage care of the Earth, spark connections, and manifest positive energy.

The time at Stock 20 was one of the highlights in her life. Through idea exchanging with other artists, she expanded her vision and explored various perspectives on her creation. In 2016, all resident artists organized a summer festival for the local community to promote art. The spirit she witnessed on others has moved her to this day.

The "Evolving" series is her first attempt at a collection of brooches, presented at Stock 20 for its 20th anniversary and her farewell to the community. By using nails, metal scraps, and other natural media, Liao presents a synthesis between different techniques and materials. Thirteen pieces are displayed in the exhibition. In Tarot, the number "13" means death and rebirth and is the number for Scorpio, Liao's star sign. Through this collection, she has documented the closure of a life chapter. By going back to square one and stepping into another unknown phase, she knows new experiences and cycles await her.
